Who we are

Chicago Roofing Inc is a marketing company. We run this website and answer the phone. We do not climb on roofs, we do not own trucks, and we do not employ roofers.

When you call, we take down where the property is and what the roof is doing, then put you in touch with an independent roofing company working your area.

Who does the work

An independent roofing contractor does. They are a separate business from this one. They inspect the roof, write the estimate, do the work and send the bill. Your agreement is with them, not with us.

The roofing companies we work with across Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry Counties are licensed and insured.

That means if something goes wrong on the job, or the work is not what you agreed, the roofer is who you take it up with. We can pass on what you tell us, but we are not a party to the contract and we cannot direct their work.

How we are paid

You do not pay us. You pay the roofer, directly, for the work they do.

We are paid by the roofing companies we refer work to.

Worth knowing: being referred to you is something a roofer pays for. It is not an endorsement, and it does not mean they are the cheapest or the best roofer for your job. Get the estimate in writing and compare it.

What we do not do

We do not supervise the work, inspect it afterwards, guarantee it, set the price, or stand behind the estimate. We are not able to; we are not there.

How to check a roofer’s licence yourself

Do this before you sign anything. It takes about a minute and it is the single most useful thing you can do to protect yourself.

Roofing contractors in Illinois are licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation under the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act. Ask the roofer for their licence number, then look it up on the IDFPR licence lookup. Check the name on the licence matches the name on the estimate.

Ask for a current certificate of insurance too, and check the dates on it. A roofer who is insured will not mind being asked.

To be unambiguous about it, Chicago Roofing Inc does not claim:

to hold a roofing licence of its own
to carry contractor’s insurance of its own
to perform, supervise or inspect any roofing work
to have completed jobs, years in the trade, reviews or ratings of its own

Any reviews or ratings you find elsewhere about a roofer we referred belong to that roofer and describe their work, not ours.

Estimates, prices and timing

Any price, timeframe or scope you are given comes from the roofer and is theirs to honour. We do not set prices and we do not quote. Nothing on this website is an offer, a quotation or a guarantee of availability.
